well since i cant grow a beard, dont have the patience for dread-locks, and do not want anything permanent like a tatoo yet..... i enjoyed the experience, never been in a tatoo parlor, this looks understated, not painful & everyone hates my new nose "glitter" which i find kinda funny.
i don't see it being a permanent thing with me, but i always wanted one, and you never know if you don't try..... just one more step in the independent direction of making my own choices-.
btw i also registered to vote last week!.
Wantstoleave- go figure, well I go tonite to stay with Dad while Mom is at convention & take him to get kidney dialysis- it will be an interesting experiment to see if he notices it at all, lol.
jwfacts- never heard of a guy getting a navel pierced either, there were sisters I heard rumor of getting navel piercings because you could hide them...did you get a tatoo or additional piercing after leaving the Borg??

hi everyone i regularly go onto the topix website and on one thread this was said earlier today.. found on facebook this morning:.
"at our service meeting it was announced that there is a change in the manner in which magazines are now to be delivered to the congregations.. .
up until now, magazines were sent to each kingdom hall via ups.
alanv,
In the US (Michigan anyway), when my ex-husband was a ministerial servant he and I would drive up to the assembly hall to collect the boxes of magazines from a garage behind the assembly hall- we did that for years & I don't know how long before that the brothers had been doing it that way....Yes, it was a gas expense..& a big time waster (an hour drive each way for us). We would use the occasion to go out to eat and try to make a date of it sometimes. But that was 5 years ago...so much has changed for me since then & I've been out for about a year now...

this afternoon i got a letter stating that i was accepted to accompany a ww 2 veteran on a flight to washington dc to visit the ww2 memorial in september.. www.honorflight.org.
i also was called to check up on the health of several horses that some friends of my wife adopted, they are very underweight belgians, and these.
new owners want to make sure that they are taken care of.
Your post brought a tear to my eye, (maybe I'm just over-emotional today) but I hope I can eventually get to that mental place where I can freely volunteer because I really want to & do it- not for the hours to report on a time slip-or not just to count down the morning- or look good to others- but...because it its the right thing to do to contribute to improving the human condition
I indentify much with Troubled Mind- I have been having a hard time finding something that I have a passion for; that will make my life more fulfilling- good luck to you!
Thanks for sharing MIB, I love dog stories too :)

Wantstoleave- wow, where I live there was a bible study who had a nose piercing and they would not let her advance to baptism unless she removed it. I also know another active witness who got a nose ring because she knew of witnesses in India who had them and it wasn't a problem- the elders pressured her big time...she removed it.
I guess it just depends on the area you live...
I havent shown it to any JWs yet they are all at convention this week...I'm sure my mom will be discusted, don't know if she will say anything out loud though...ah well
mine's was, if your job interfere with the meetings you have to decide who you will choose,.
serving jehovah or serving man, if anyone knew my needs it most definitely was jehovah.
and he knew i needed my job to eat.
My JW husband took off and left me holding the bag of cars, our house, & credit card bills ($90,000 that there was no way I could pay for & the items were repo'd) & I wanted to get a divorce....
the elders told me "don't do that now, you just need to wait on Jehovah & be patient for things to work out"
A year later, the mortgage company and car loan people were going to take me to court & garnish my wages- I got my divorce & declared bankrupsy- made me a marked person but that year of agony was the worst advise ever- why did I think they were qualified to be my financial planners?????

my health is good but i do worry about how the economy affects my income.
you just never know if $$$ comes in or if business is slow.. what's your biggest worry in your life?.
Im changing my major to Art History, so my big issue is...will I like this career field & will it pay off enough to recoup all the $$ it is taking to go to university????

baby steps....
i reckon that the sentence at the start of paragraph two of the letter to elders that says "in view of the good results and for other practical reasons, it is now felt that the pioneer assist others program has accomplished its purpose.
" (italics mine) is legal cya because if a pioneer goofs up and injures (while driving?
) or molests an assistee then there is a direct link to the wts because a pioneer is society appointed.. follow the dollars ....
The Pioneer Assist program was never effective for me...they always targeted me to be in the program because I was "spritually weak" because I was divorced in Jehovahs Organization...then the pioneers they stuck me with never assisted me with anything....they just made me take the doors and made no coments on how to improve, I always thought it was a joke-and for some stupid reason I always felt too guilty to say no, thinking absurdly that Jehovah was trying to help me....
my birthday is coming up next week.
ever since leaving the watchtower i aways do something on or round that day with my sister.
we usually go to lunch and do something like see a movie, play golf, or spend the day at the beach together.
Happy Birthday !
Mine is next week too & I cannot allow myself too much pomp & circumstance because my mind wont let go of that JW doctrine dribble, I do not know if I will ever get past it all...you live it up for the both of us!
